Alongside VESNA, we are developing Santa Barbara Rooftop, an editorial interview series with founders, executives, designers, investors, and cultural leaders.

We are looking for Production Assistants who can support the Lead Videographer / Director of Photography during filming days and help keep the set organized, prepared, and running smoothly.

THE ROLE

As a Production Assistant / Camera & Set Assistant, you will support the Lead Videographer / Director of Photography on set.

This role includes helping with equipment setup and breakdown, cables, lights, tripods, stands, batteries, media cards, monitors, bags, basic production logistics, guest flow, and general set organization.

This is a hands-on role for someone reliable, fast, careful with equipment, and comfortable taking direction on a professional shoot.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Assist the Lead Videographer / Director of Photography during filming.
• Help load, unload, carry, set up, and break down production equipment.
• Assist with cameras, tripods, lights, stands, monitors, cables, batteries, chargers, media cards, and accessories.
• Help with cable management, power setup, and keeping the set clean and safe.
• Support lighting setup under the direction of the DP.
• Help move equipment between locations when needed.
• Keep gear organized before, during, and after the shoot.
• Assist with basic audio setup when needed, including lav mics, boom stands, and cables.
• Help manage guest flow, timing, water, seating, and basic on-set needs.
• Support BTS capture when needed.
• Help keep the production schedule moving.
• Watch for small issues on set and solve them quickly.
• Stay available for general production support throughout the shoot day.

WHAT YOU BRING

Essential:

• Experience as a production assistant, camera assistant, set assistant, content assistant, or similar production role.
• Comfort working on filming sets.
• Ability to lift and carry production equipment.
• Basic understanding of cameras, lighting, audio, cables, batteries, tripods, and stands.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow direction quickly and accurately.
• Reliable, calm, organized, and punctual.
• Comfort working around guests, founders, executives, and production partners.
• Professional communication and set etiquette.

Nice to have:

• Experience with interviews, podcasts, branded content, fashion, beauty, wellness, luxury, or editorial shoots.
• Experience assisting with camera, lighting, grip, or audio setup.
• Experience with Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, RED, or similar camera systems.
• Experience with BTS, Reels, Shorts, TikTok, or social content capture.
