Systems of Choice and Risk
02.
Kate’s work extends beyond interface design. She designs the conditions that shape choice, reduce friction, and manage perceived risk.
At the center of her methodology is a disciplined approach to where attention, effort, and capital are placed. Rather than dispersing resources across incremental redesigns, the system identifies the point with the greatest influence — the Decision Point. This is where trust is established, risk is weighed, and choice is formed. By concentrating resources at that point, she creates leverage across the broader commercial system.

Core Capabilities

Kate identifies the moment when a customer loses trust, fails to see value, encounters unnecessary risk, or stops moving toward a purchase — and isolates the mechanism that is actually affecting the outcome. This approach has been applied across Outdoor Voices, Après Nail, and other e-commerce projects, producing results including a 48% increase in engagement and identifying critical DEXI® gaps scoring 33–35/100.
Kate turns diagnosis into a cohesive solution, aligning the product, offer, choice architecture, UX, content, visual language, and commercial logic around a single underlying cause. Across Outdoor Voices, Coastline, and other projects, this approach has delivered results including +50% sales, +60% conversion, $1.44M in revenue, and up to +81% conversion at specific stages of the customer journey.
Kate turns an undefined idea into a working system — from market, audience, and business model to product, monetization, user architecture, visual language, and launch. Her portfolio includes 20+ 0→1 products and 30+ platforms and ecosystems, including Potok, Study2Go, SAHA, Zakroma, and Elix Fióra.
One of Kate’s core strengths is turning large volumes of data, processes, roles, and dependencies into clear systems that support better decision-making. Her experience includes national digital platforms serving 39M+ monthly users with program budgets of $1.25B, as well as complex systems for United Aircraft Corporation and TraceFarm.
Kate not only defines the direction, but organizes the execution — assembling the right team, structuring roles, managing production, and preserving the strategic logic through launch. At IPBD Group, this model supported $2.5M in first-year revenue and the delivery of 300+ projects; across other engagements, Kate has led teams of up to 20 people.
Kate adapts products, positioning, and visual language to new audiences, cultural contexts, and market segments without losing the integrity of the original idea. This capability has shaped work for Russian Railways and Kazakhstan Railways, Xerox, Michel Kataná, and IDA Sports — from transferring proven product models across markets to repositioning brands for new audiences and segments.
Nearly 20 years of practice across 160+ projects and 25+ industries have enabled Kate to turn recurring commercial principles into structured, repeatable systems. These insights became the foundation for DEXI®, the VESNA© methodology, and her book, 140 Strategies That Drive Buying Decisions.
