The Peak Performance Panel & Dinner

The Peak Performance Panel & Dinner returned to the Equinox Hotel for an evening focused on how high-growth and enterprise commerce brands align technology, operations, marketing, and customer experience to scale with greater precision.

Hosted by VESNA in partnership with Attentive and Shopify, the event brought together leaders from across digital commerce for a focused discussion on unified commerce, lifecycle marketing, technology consolidation, and the systems required to support growth without adding unnecessary complexity.

Event Recap

Peak Performance was designed as a smaller, more intentional gathering for eCommerce leaders to exchange ideas beyond the usual conference format. The evening combined a panel discussion, seated dinner, informal networking, and a curated client experience within one setting at the Equinox Hotel.

The focus was practical: how brands can connect backend infrastructure with front-end customer experience while keeping teams aligned and execution fast.

Rather than treating technology, marketing, and brand experience as separate functions, the discussion explored what happens when those systems are designed to work together.

The Panel

To explore the realities of unified commerce, the panel brought together leaders representing different business models, customer relationships, and areas of expertise:

Caroline Homlish, SVP of Digital at Khaite

Gina Lombardo, Sr. Director of E-Commerce at quip

Kurt Diver, Director of Email Deliverability at Attentive

John Surdakowski, Founder & CEO at VESNA

The conversation examined how commerce organizations can simplify fragmented technology stacks while maintaining the flexibility required for growth. Panelists discussed the importance of alignment between brand, marketing, technology, and eCommerce teams, particularly as customer journeys become more connected across channels.

The discussion also highlighted how strategy changes depending on the business model. A luxury fashion brand, for example, approaches frequency, messaging, exclusivity, and lifecycle marketing differently from a subscription-led consumer business.

Email and SMS were another major focus. Deliverability, segmentation, frequency, and customer relevance become increasingly important as owned channels carry more responsibility for retention and repeat revenue.

AI Across Owned Customer Channels

The panel also explored how teams are beginning to use AI more intentionally across commerce and lifecycle marketing.

The opportunity is not simply to automate more communication. AI can help teams identify customer signals, improve segmentation, accelerate content production, personalize interactions, and make larger customer datasets easier to act on.

The strongest applications are those that improve the customer experience while reducing operational friction behind the scenes. For enterprise teams, that means connecting AI to clear business objectives rather than introducing another disconnected tool into the stack.

Dinner & Networking

Following the panel, the evening transitioned into dinner and cocktails within the same space.

The format was intentionally designed to extend the discussion rather than separate the formal event from networking. Guests could continue conversations from the panel, compare approaches, and connect with other commerce leaders in a more relaxed environment.

Keeping the group curated also created room for deeper conversations around the challenges teams are actively working through, from technology decisions and retention strategy to organizational structure and customer experience.

Client Spotlight

Before the evening concluded, guests were invited to create their own gift bags from a selection of products representing brands within the VESNA network.

The experience featured products from quip, AriZona Beverages, The Shop at Equinox, and Unite Hair, alongside VESNA merchandise and event-branded totes.

Rather than a standard giveaway, the format allowed guests to interact directly with the products and discover the brands represented throughout the evening.

It also created a physical extension of the broader event theme: bringing together commerce, brand experience, and customer engagement in a way that felt considered rather than promotional.

Looking Ahead

Peak Performance was built around the idea that the most useful industry conversations happen when the right mix of operators, technology partners, and brand leaders are placed in the same room.

VESNA creates these experiences to connect people working on similar commercial problems while giving partners and clients a setting designed around meaningful discussion rather than traditional event programming.

From the panel structure to the dinner, environment, and client integrations, each element is designed to support the brands in the room and the conversations shaping the next stage of commerce.
